FAQ

Why do I need a maintenance package?

Keeping a self-hosted website up and running can be very time-consuming. Integrated plug-ins and add-ons need to be kept up-to-date, content may need to be updated, regular backups done, and there also may be a need for technical support. Without these steps, there can be no guarantee your website will continue running smoothly, and there may also be the risk of losing it entirely. The cost and time of recovering a lost website are significant. With one of our website maintenance packages, we take care of all these tasks for you. Included in every package are monthly off-site backups, priority technical support from both ourselves and Squarespace and search engine optimization. Additionally, the costs associated with each platform for hosting your website and domain are included in our monthly packages, which means there are no extra charges for you to worry about each year or month.

Is there a discounted rate if I pay annually?

Yes! Plans pre-paid for the year receive the equivalent of one month free!

Can I switch plans at any time?

If a plan isn’t working out for you, it can be switched out for another at any time. The cost difference will be pro-rated to reflect the remaining days/months, either at a refund or an additional charge. Annually-paid plans can only be changed to monthly-paid in the final month of the billing cycle.

I don’t want to pay monthly, can I have work done on a case-by-case basis?

Absolutely! If you don’t expect to need monthly maintenance* and content updates, we offer pay-as-you-go rates from $65-$95 per hour. These rates do not require an active maintenance plan, though those with an active plan receive a discounted pay-as-you-go rate. A 1-hr minimum applies to all pay-as-you-go services, however, all work done past the first hour is charged at a pro-rated amount based on the actual time taken to complete. If you require urgent work to be done within 24 hrs, this may be charged at an express rate of $95/hr.

Is content photography included in maintenance packages?

Content photography is not included in standard packages, but can always be added on or done pay-as-you-go. Pricing would vary based on shoot locations, frequency, amount of content required, and if it is an add-on to a maintenance package. Just let us know you’re interested and we will include content photography in your quote.

What about email hosting?

Domain-based email hosting through Google Workspace can be added on to any maintenance package for an additional cost of $10-$30 per email, per month. Each email address can have up to 30 additional aliases and includes standard access to Google features such as Meet, Drive, Calendar, and Docs. Email hosting cannot be added on to stand-alone pay-as-you-go accounts, though we can set up new email addresses for a fee, charged per address.
